On a roll

2020 was a challenging year for everyone. Here is how we, as a small business, adapted to the situation to continue supporting our employees and provide essential furniture solutions for clients working closely with our NHS.

The construction of a simple but effective roller system has allowed our upholster team to transfer finished products from their work bench to the rollers. The rollers then transport the product down to our packing department where it will be collected and prepped ready for dispatch.

Increased productivity on average by 50%.

— Nick Walker, Continuous improvement manager.

Before this system was in place we found that our upholster team would finish a product, move it to our packing area and then begin packing the product. This was ultimately slowing down the production of the next product by time spent away from their work station.

not only increasing productivity, with the introduction of specifically trained staff we have maintained exceptional quality standards.

— Pawel domanski, Research & development manager.

With the help of our new system we managed to complete jobs as efficiently as possible, increasing speed and maintaining quality which was ideal for clients who had been working closely with the NHS here in the UK.
