Following the transition to more flexible ways of working, GlobalEd partnered with Cobus to create a new workplace in the heart of Cardiff, relocating from a 70,000 sq ft office to a more efficient, contemporary environment at Fusion Point 1.
Designed to support collaboration, wellbeing and everyday productivity, the new workspace combines practical functionality with a warm, welcoming aesthetic. Relaxed breakout areas, a biophilic-inspired café featuring soft organic forms, and a dedicated Zen Garden provide spaces for employees to connect, recharge and focus throughout the day. Our banquette seating forms the heart of the café environment, creating comfortable and sociable dining spaces that encourage informal interaction throughout the working day. Elsewhere, our Myst modular seating provides a relaxed breakout setting, offering employees a comfortable place to unwind, collaborate or take a moment away from their desks. Executive meeting rooms utilise rich finishes, acoustic curtains and carefully considered lighting to create a professional yet inviting setting for both staff and visitors.
Sustainability played an important role throughout the project, with existing furniture thoughtfully refurbished through reupholstery and replacement table tops, while the overall layout was carefully planned to integrate seamlessly with the building's existing services.
The ground floor was designed to welcome visiting examiners and accommodate client meetings, while the upper floor provides a flexible workspace for day-to-day operations. Delivered ahead of schedule, the project allowed GlobalEd's IT teams sufficient time to complete infrastructure installation before occupation. The result is a contemporary workplace that reflects GlobalEd's evolving culture, supporting collaboration, flexibility and employee wellbeing for years to come.
